SimonCRE, teamed up with a partner to purchase Camden Marketplace in Camden, Arkansas located at US 278 Hwy and Cash Road, with plans for a major redevelopment of the shopping center. Kroger and Wal-Mart formerly occupied the 90,000 square foot shopping center. “The center has been neglected for years and it is time to redevelop a great piece of real estate in a strong tertiary market,” said partner, Joshua Simon. SimonCRE bought the center with just a 5% occupancy rate and by leveraging tenant relationships; the shopping center will be fully occupied upon the completion of the redevelopment later this year. The redevelopment will include new tenant spaces, store front additions, parking lot improvements and other improvements to the property. Atwood’s Ranch and Home, Dollar Tree, Its Fashion Metro, Shoe Show and Cato will occupy the center.
